What an adventure it has been…educational, rewarding, and a whole lot of fun! I feel fortunate to have created an equestrian lifestyle blog that combines my love of horses, writing and traveling. I’ve met so many wonderful people who have broadened my horizons and offered opportunities for rewarding new experiences.
Beginning at Equine Affaire in Columbus Ohio, where Max Hammond introduced me to Jane and Bob Coleman of Smokey Valley Farm in Olive Hill Kentucky. My visit to their beautiful farm brought not only new friends, but a new breed of horse, The Smokey Valley Horse.
Smokey Valley Farm
Longines Masters
Then on to New York for the Longines Masters, where I saw some of the world’s best showjumpers in action…McLain Ward, Beezie Madden, Georgina Bloomberg, to name a few.
The Devon Horse Show
Spring brought a nostalgic return to Devon Pennsylvania for the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair. I hadn’t been to this elegant event since Smarty Jones won the Kentucky Derby!
Darlington Polo
Right in my back yard (well almost) we enjoyed a “Friday Night Lights” polo match with The Darlington Polo Club and Polo Girls.
American Saddlebred World Championships
The Kentucky State Fair in Louisville Kentucky was the setting for an event I’d always wanted to attend…the American Saddlebred World Championships. Not only did I get to see the breeds “cream of the crop,” I also reconnected with my first trainer, Stacey Himmelstine White.
Rolling Rock Hunt
Foxhunting with friends Opening Day, and dancing the night away at the Hunt Ball.
Quarter Horse Congress
First time to Quarter Horse Congress in Columbus Ohio…what a blast (literally!)
Kaitlyn Moor’s Inaugural Ride!
Trekking The Oregon Trail
A fabulous experience exploring the great Pacific Northwest with our equine friends!
EQUUS Film Festival
And the Piece De Resistance of the year was the EQUUS Film Festival in New York. Saw so many wonderful films, met so many wonderful people, and was honored with an award for my first novel “Murder at Morgan House.”
