Greetings!
I’m writing to remind you that November 28th is Giving Tuesday. Giving
Tuesday is a movement that unleashes the power of Radical Generosity. A
concept that the suffering of others should be as intolerable to us as our own
suffering.
As you know, Hosea Youth Services has become an organization very close to
my heart. Director Brad Bills, and his wonderful staff provided support and
fellowship to my son, Grant Thomas Winters, until the day he died…October
28th, 2021. Grant, was a person that would *literally* give the shirt off his back to
anyone that needed it. In fact, he often gave away his own possessions to those he
believed needed them more than him, even though he had very little himself.
The number of young people that are homeless, mentally ill, and addicted to drugs
is rapidly increasing with no end in sight. Hosea’s driving force is the desire to help
these people move toward a life of purpose and fulfillment.
The homeless are often overlooked, pushed aside, and even seen as nuisances…
something many people want to turn away from or eradicate like pests. Through our
own fear, which I believe is natural and understandable, we’re struggling to find a
solution to this problem. We as humans need to open our hearts, tap into our
empathy, and work together to address this issue. A lot of people we know want to
help and just don’t know how.
But, I want you to know that through your generosity, Hosea House has been
moving forward in very significant ways.
A message from Director, Brad Bills…
So far this year we have had over
7,000 different visits, served over
10,000 meals and welcomed over 450
different guests. While we see many
who still struggle with being unhoused,
addicted and mentally challenged, we
have also assisted many in obtaining
ID, getting a phone, finding a job,
getting counseling and obtaining
housing.
New classroom & counseling space opening soon!
But we still have much to do!
So my friends, I come to you again to ask for your
